pr5air: epi6 - point system (boring stuff)
heads up ... the following will bore you. if you are not in pr5air, don't bother reading this unless for some reason you are following pr5air.
almost time to pick the final 3 (or 4?) ... epi6 is near mid-way. the plan has been to pick after epi8. given the original plan, epi6 will be "practice pick" week.
practice pick (optional) ... simply put, pick 3 people you believe may be your final 3. choose wisely because as we move forward toward epi11 (gahhhhrrrrrrrrr - ll cool j in epi11!), these practice picks may get you progressive points ... 0.50 or whatever. (haven't worked out this idea, yet).
on the final 3 ... you will, HOWEVER, be allowed to pick a DIFFERENT set of "final 3" **IF** you choose to do so. however, this practice pick will serve a purpose even throughout the remainder of the episodes. you get only ONE practice-pick; no swapping out afterwards.
practice-pick-later ... if you decide not to epi6-practice-pick but then later decide to epi7-practice-pick or epi8-practice-pick, you are gaming the system, so we'll consider it. however, wcdbunny must talk with the anti-scorekeeper, l.a.g., about this math-logic. or maybe jenm's lawnmower-jockey has some math ideas.
possible points for epi6 as follows ... the math is pretty simple; it's all addition.
- 3 points [=] predict correct winner **AND** loser
- 1 point [=] predict correct winner **ONLY**
- 1 point [=] predict correct loser **ONLY**
- 2 points [=] **ALL 3** of your "practice picks" are still standing. in other words, you do not have the loser in your "practice picks"
- 5 points - trifecta! pick winner AND pick loser AND pick all 3 standing.
- 3 points - pick winner AND loser; pick winner OR pick loser AND pick all 3 standing.
- 2 points - pick only all 3 standing
- 1 point - pick only winner OR only loser
- 0 point - anti-pick.
- designer who received the BEST SLAM from tim gunn (and of course this being subjective, we'll just see how this gets settled in cubeopolis and on blog comments - haven't forgotten about the virtuals!)
- designer who is trying to get into the "ricky" club (that would be the crier)
- designer who made another designer cry
- designer who made a bad pick during merry-go-round-model time
- designer who, based on bhg, was the most ... something (revered, reviled, ...whatever we come up with)
- designer who received (through the technology of editing) the most kudos (suck-up) or the best snarky remarks (shit canning) from the judges
- designer who has a stupid flower in her (or his?) hair
- designer who was in the high or low score pool
- designer who picked the stupidest accessory
- designer whose model's hair looked the best or the worst
- your ideas! bring them on, please.
(and will someone bribe me, ffs!)

Mower jockey? I'll have you know I do more than mow. I also operate a chain saw, a string trimmer, a variety of hand held power tools, soldering torches, wrenches, screwdrivers and pliers. On top of that, I manage the dishwashing equipment an maintain the heating plant.
Mower jockey, I'm insulted.

billn, aka, mr. home depot, reads a pr5air post?!
(just checking. wink. keeping it real.)
I do when I am referred to as a mower jockey.
Also, in VT we don't dig on big corporate chain stores like HD. We prefer East Montpelier Home Center, Webb Plumbing and Twin City Electric Supply.
Also in VT, we never buy a new mower, at 70Hack we just bought a used mower for $60. Nice.
