WOW! ALREADY?! last year today was when i had a visit from a moving company, who ultimately was selected to move me from SD to the BA - and as billN commented - who* ultimately charged me just a little more than was quoted. i can't believe that it's been a year, already!

places i've not been, as well as places i've not been recently.]

... for lunch - a business lunch. uh. yeah. a business ... lunch. see - we have corporate gear on and are saying words like project, status, report, reimbursement, spreadsheet, invoicing, contract, site visit, forms, ...

vagabond has become a (maybe the) favorite lunch spot destination.

lunch - doable on a walk-in basis. dinner - with reservations - is a must (!) even for a party of two, and be prepared, because the other folks who are enjoying their meals and the company they keep are chatting up a storm. (you'll chat up a storm - this place is great for that!) ... lunch - not so much a noise issue - and y'all'll still chat up a storm.

snippets and keywords surely overheard by those sitting next to our table ... yom kippur services ~ dating ~ can i try some ~ iraq war ~ temp agencies ~ smells good ~ playing one off the other ~ nyc ~ peeing in the woods ~ that's alot ~ m&m tattoos ~ scary matches ~ stealing ~ gays welcomed ~ mmmmmm...this is very good ~ here's the camera ~ spicy ~ it's warm yellow liquid ~ wedding reception ~ rush hour traffic ~ thank you.

the food is flavorful and wonderful - by sight, smell, texture & taste. and with wonderful service, the experience is fab. and we all had from the lunch menu ...

• him - Calamari Duo Salad ... Asian Kung-Pao Style Calamari and a small serving of our Crispy Garlic Calamari. Served with Aji Aioli and Mixed Green tossed in a Caribbean Dressing.
  
• her across from me - Red Curry ... Onions, Garlic, Coconut Milk, Red Curry, Lemon Grass, Ginger, Palm Sugar and a touch of Chili Pepper. Served on a Bowl over Jasmine Rice and garnished with Fried Shallots, Shredded Kaffir Lime leaves and Scallions.
  
• us (across from them), both ordered - Two Salmon Potato & Edamame Salad ... A Black Olive Toast of Crema fresca, topped with Smoked Salmon, Alfafa Sprouts, thinly sliced Red Onions and Capers and a Grilled Small Filet of Salmon; served with New Potatoes, Edamame and Bits of Smoked Salmon tossed in Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Chives. Rice Vinegar Drizzle.
  
• all - freshly baked bread with an aioli
• two of us - freshly brewed tea

last friday (29th), after dining with the larger group on wednesday, had lunch at manhattan hub (where one of the brethren totally hooked me up with the salads!) with the g-brothers (c & m) and bill n.

[and interestingly enough (for me, at least), the "g" brothers have the same last name as one of my college boyfriends. moreover, c.g. shares the same first name. the similarities stop there. btw, c.g. (circa 1983) is the college "ex-boyfriend clueless" - the one who is mentioned in this post, where f=m+c. c.g. (circa 2007) knows f≠m+c, EVER.]

thanks to billn (who was mister-patient on my first BA project when i was getting ready for relo-ing from SD to BA and from whom i learned i'm o.k. at my labor) and the g-brothers, i learned ...

• m thinks the next time i see him, it will be our 4th date (no. wrong. soooo-not-so-much.)
  
• c is a great story-teller
• billn continues to dress to the beat of his own drummer (hmmmm? perhaps ali score's drumming?)
  
• shirlsd is blessed with having cool clients, even if one of them is delusional

bonus friday ... up in woo-woo land

(that land would be marin county) ... where there was an r|wear siting in mill valley at an r|chow, after i did an "enviro-thing" in tiburon.

on thurs eve, hung out over at kdz's before fri's day-long workshop (championing sustainability, led by syntony quest) in tiburon. (will later post something about the workshop.)

after the fri seminar, kdz and i did three VERY important things ... in order of importance - (1) took pooch benny for a long walk to do his pooch thing, (2) went to west elm (because the corte madera location is the ONLY freakin' location in northern cal) and (3) ate dinner.

(and congrats to kdz - the owner of two new mirrors. yippee!!!)

r|wear ... siting at r|chow. (sure, it was kind of a staged, but it also can get cold at night.)

r|chow ... at ora in mill valley. yum. yum. so let's talk about din and deconstruct what we had for the evening.

sake cocktails
mint monsoon - lime and fresh mint leaves are muddled with sugar, nigori sake and soju. served tall on the rocks with a splash of soda to finish.

sumo squeeze - OJ, tripple sec, peach nectar, soju and nigori sake. all cuddled "up" with an orange wedge.

din-din & appetizers included - tap water ('cuz you get a choice, people); spicy eggplant; tempura green beans; garlic somen noodles; fried bread; wokked baby bok choy; and sesame crusted (sashimi grade) tuna with shrimp, wasabi potatoes ... and some wavy other stuff on the plate (which i forget). and let's not forget the pretty flower petals.

dessert ... did not happen (wah-wah-wah). we had chose to pass on dessert given the major amount of din-din/appetizers consumed. as a result, next time, it will be coffee + dessert. our server, tony, says the bread pudding and the panna cotta are awesome ... and of course the bombe. we shall see and taste. next time.

... thursday was a big mix of activities - bkfast with l at champagne bakery, off to a mtg (APPS/CIT) at the SDAPCD ...

off to a lunch mtg with e to discuss current thoughts and rediscover my passion for my business and for establishing more balance ...

coffee + cookie (THE oatmeal mango cookie) at influx ...

back to t's for work, until t had to pedal off into the sunset...

then meet-up with ... l and r for drinks, din, dessert, and dish.

just a quick post about my wednesday in SD ... in my not-so-compact ford escape, as i drive over to my little SD area office ...



yup! my l'il office in cardiff (thanks, tanya!)


and then i took a l'il break at influx to meet with ben and catch up. (be strong, ben, for your sister!) before din-din.

met up with my friends, l & s, for din at vagabond (where else?!).


of course, had quite an awesome meal and great conversation.




after din-din ... met up with l for a night cap and more fun conversation.
