We recently had a city-wide property value reassessment (eventually these values tie into our property tax amount). People weren't happy, they went to the City Council meeting, the City Council canceled the entire thing and said "you are right, the process was not transparent, there were some unfair parts, we are starting over." How cool is that? The elected government responded to issues brought up by the people about the professional government. What a concept.
