r|break: ... saturday morning fiber break

this morn's fiber break is a bit of nostalgika ... from remembering some way-back childhood cartoon/after school t.v. watching. key word plops into youtube has resulted in the following fiber break of ...

• after school cartoon watching
• hawaii-only kids t.v. fun
• people & puffy costumed people!

kimba - the white lion ... my brother & i LOVED watching this after school on a 13-inch t.v. (color, at least). i liked the "wisdom" of dan'l the baboon (or maybe i just liked saying "dan'l"?).

checkers & pogo ... when we lived in hawaii, checkers & pogo was the best EVER for us. this is just a clip of the intro. to this day (and that means 30+ years later), my bro & i know for sure that there is, in fact, psychological scarring (or pleasantries) from our formative years. it is because of checkers & pogo that we will occassionally eat saltine crackers and try to whistle without - or with - making a mess. (note to self: teach to niece & nephew)

h.r. pufnstuf ... the land of puffy costumed characters and the the FABU witchypoo was another fave. a catchy musical intro story that can be (was) one of those "get this tune outta my head?!" ... (h.r. pufnstuff, who's your friend when things get rough? ...)
