the hot drink of choice ...

... as i deal with an ick-sick cough i had (which resulted in my just not going to work for a day - also 'cuz of the l'il kinda throwing up a bit) is this syrupy thing in warm/hot water ... nin jiom pei pa kao ... explained nicely HERE and HERE. (or check out the nin jiom site).

be thankful i've spared you a pic of the ick-sick gunk (well, i didn't spare gadget man, but oh well - if you wanna see it, i'll e-mail it to you ... or show you it on my cell phone. ick.)

am liking the drink stuff. totally works REALLY WELL!!!

r|psa: much less sick today & a bit of a wiser driver ...

... after my weekend of being less sick and taking advantage of on-line (rather than in person) traffic school.

why traffic school? ... because i went a tad bit faster (42 mph v. 25 mph) through the fastrak toll lane back in october. oops - my bad.

nuggets from the on-line course? ... here are just a few that i enjoyed (some funny haha & some aha moments, kinda sorta) -

• ON HEADLIGHTS - You must have two working headlights (unless your vehicle is a motorcycle), ...
  
  
• ON WEARING SAFETY BELTS - Your chance to escape will be better if you are conscious.
  
  
• ON DISTANCE BETWEEN CARS - You need a four-second gap whenever you change lanes, enter a freeway from an entrance lane, or merge with another road.
  
  
• ON WHAT MAY CAUSE ACCIDENTS - Confused people such as: tourists, (often at complicated intersections), or drivers who are looking for a house or particular address.
  
  
• ON AVOIDING COLLISIONS - Running off the road is usually better than hitting another car. ... Almost anything is better than a head-on collision.
  
  
• ON SIDEWALK DRIVING - Never drive on a sidewalk unless you are crossing a sidewalk to enter or leave a driveway or alley.
  
  
• ABOUT FREEWAYS - The proper way to get off of the freeway is via a freeway exit. Never go through the grass or cut over on top of the cement median.
  
  
• ON GETTING YOUR LICENSE - Your thumb print or finger print, if you have no thumbs, will be taken.

r|sick-day: ... still - but got flowers waiting for me at cubeopolis

thanks to jolli-E ... (jolli-E was one of my first coffee buddies - and photog - when i started working in cubeopolis!) cubeopolis had an effort this past work week where cubesters could give flowers to other cubesters.

meanwhile, still recouping ... from the gunk & sh** in my lungs, so my weekend's best friend remains the hankscraft steam vaporizer as featured over here.

oh, and THANKS (!!!) ... to you all who voted for bliss. SHE WON (... as one of only 100 ford fiesta agents, so watch out for her back on the east coast)!!!

now off to on-line traffic school ... 'cuz of this infraction ... and a little catching up on reading news, blogs, and labels on meds.

gimme some ... vicks ... electricity ... water ... patience ... and more vicks - and i'm having a party of hacking in my family room - all for the betterment of health.

meanwhile, i live with the happy-happy joy-joy memory of last week's blogger of the week.

and i'm gleeful that daviddust got to see anderson cooper interview a few famous people tuesday night at radio city music hall.

now - back to my friend hanskcraft.

it's all i can stand to do (... as well as this dorky post amidst the fuzzy-head) - savor my bowl of arroz caldo, gizoogle on-line news and blogs for some amusement amongst the voices in my head, thanks mucinex (my current bff. tmi?) and catch up on dvr stuff. time to snooze.
